Philip C. Hamm Memorial Scholarship in the Plant Sciences
A nonrenewable scholarship of up to $1000 is available to qualified undergraduate students in the plant sciences and related disciplines from the Philip C. Hamm Memorial Scholarship Program. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and reward undergraduate students who show promise and interest in becoming research plant scientists.
To be eligible for this award, an undergraduate student must be a junior or senior and have an outstanding scholastic and research record in plant sciences or a related field.
Applications must include:
- A statement of career objectives, including your research experience and interest (limit to 1 page).
- A resume or curriculum vitae.
- Transcripts of all undergraduate work.
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty members providing evidence of your promise or potential as a research plant scientist. (Letters should be limited to 1 page in length. Faculty letter writers should submit letters directly to Chana Johnston- [email protected]).
Deadline for complete applications: March 31, 2020.

The awards will be based entirely on merit, and the recipient will be recognized for this honor at the Philip C. Hamm Memorial lecture Fall 2020 (lecture postponed, date tbd). Funds will be granted end of Spring semester 2020.
